Preamble. About This Cookies Policy
This Cookies Policy explains how Ameck Technologies Limited ("Ameck", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Ameck Platform — comprising our web application at ameck.co, shops.ameck.co, and com.ameck.co, and our Android and iOS mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform").
This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, both of which are available on the Platform. Terms defined in the Privacy Policy carry the same meaning in this Cookies Policy.
When you first visit the Platform on a web browser, a cookie consent notice will appear. You may accept all cookies by selecting "OK", or decline non-essential cookies by selecting "Cancel". Your cookie preferences are recorded and respected for future visits. You may change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Platform, or by contacting us at contact@ameck.co.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device — including your computer, smartphone, or tablet — when you visit a website or use a web-based application. Cookies are widely used by website operators to make their platforms work more efficiently, to personalise content, and to collect information about how the platform is used.
Cookies can be "persistent" cookies, which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them, or "session" cookies, which are temporary and expire when you close your browser or end your session.
In addition to cookies, we and our third-party partners may use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage objects, and session tokens to collect information about your use of the Platform. These are collectively referred to as "cookies" in this Policy for ease of reference.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function correctly. They enable core functionality such as user authentication, account security, session management, and load balancing. Without these cookies, services you have asked for — such as logging into your account or maintaining your session while navigating between pages — cannot be provided. These cookies are always active and do not require your consent.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session Token | Ameck | Maintains your authenticated session while you are logged into the Platform. Prevents repeated login requests during a single session. | Session — deleted when you close your browser or log out |
| CSRF Token | Ameck | Protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks by verifying that requests originate from the Platform. | Session |
| Cookie Consent Preference | Ameck | Stores your cookie consent decision (OK or Cancel) so the consent notice does not reappear on subsequent visits. | 12 months |
| Authentication State | Ameck / Google (Sign in with Google) | Maintains your authenticated login state when you use Sign in with Google for account access. | Session or up to 30 days if "Stay signed in" is selected |
2.2 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you have made — such as your preferred language, display settings, or saved searches — and provide enhanced, more personalised features. These cookies are not strictly necessary but improve your experience. They require your consent.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saved Search Preferences | Ameck | Remembers your most recent search filters — including neighborhood, budget range, and property type — so you do not need to re-enter them on return visits. | Up to 30 days |
| Recently Viewed Listings | Ameck | Stores a record of listings you have recently viewed to enable the "Recently Viewed" feature on the Platform. | Up to 14 days |
| Language and Display Settings | Ameck | Stores your preferred language and interface display preferences where applicable. | Up to 12 months |
2.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Platform — for example, which pages are visited most often, how long users spend on each page, and where users have encountered errors. This data is used to improve the performance and content of the Platform. Analytics data is aggregated and does not directly identify individual users, though it may include IP addresses and device identifiers. These cookies require your consent.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _gid, _gat | Google Analytics | Collects information about how visitors use the web platform. Used to generate statistical reports on Platform usage, traffic sources, and user behaviour. | _ga: 2 years; _gid: 24 hours; _gat: 1 minute |
| Firebase Analytics SDK | Google Firebase | Used on our mobile applications (Android and iOS) to monitor app performance, track user engagement, and identify crash events. Operates through the Firebase SDK embedded in the app rather than through browser cookies. | Persistent — controlled through app data settings |
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's own privacy policy. Ameck has enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics to reduce the precision of IP addresses collected. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
2.4 Mobile Application Identifiers
Our Android and iOS mobile applications do not use browser cookies. Instead, the mobile applications use the following technology-equivalent identifiers:
| Identifier | Platform | Purpose | Management |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session Token | Android and iOS | Maintains your authenticated session in the mobile application. Generated upon login and invalidated upon logout. | Deleted on logout or app uninstall |
| Firebase Instance ID | Android and iOS | A unique identifier assigned by Firebase to each app installation. Used to deliver push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and to associate analytics data with a specific installation. | Persists until app is uninstalled or Firebase ID is reset |
| Pusher Connection ID | Android and iOS | A temporary identifier used by Pusher to manage real-time notification connections. Not used for tracking or profiling purposes. | Session — valid only for the duration of the active app session |
Advertising identifiers — specifically the Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and the Google Advertising ID (GAID) — are not collected or used by the Ameck mobile applications at this time.
2.5 Third-Party Advertising and Social Media Cookies
Ameck runs digital advertising campaigns on third-party platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Google. These campaigns are managed through the advertising dashboards of those respective platforms using aggregated and anonymised audience data.
IMPORTANT: Ameck does not place any third-party advertising pixel, tag, or tracking script — including any Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or Google Ads conversion tag — directly on the Ameck Platform at this time. Accordingly, no third-party advertising cookies are set on your device as a result of visiting the Platform.
When you visit Meta, TikTok, or Google platforms independently of Ameck, those platforms may set their own cookies on your device in accordance with their own privacy and cookies policies. Ameck has no control over and accepts no responsibility for any cookies set by third-party platforms you visit independently.
If Ameck introduces any advertising tracking technology directly on the Platform in future, this Cookies Policy will be updated accordingly and users will be notified before any such change takes effect.
3. Cookie Consent on the Web Platform
3.1 How We Obtain Your Consent
When you first visit the Ameck web platform, a cookie consent notice will be displayed. This notice explains that we use cookies and provides you with two options:
- "OK" — By selecting OK, you consent to the use of all categories of cookies described in this Policy, including functional and analytics cookies.
- "Cancel" — By selecting Cancel, you decline consent for non-essential cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies will be placed on your device.
Your consent decision is recorded in a cookie consent preference cookie, which expires after twelve (12) months. After twelve months, the consent notice will reappear and you will be asked to confirm your preferences again.
3.2 Withdrawing or Changing Your Consent
You may withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by:
- Clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Platform — the consent notice will reappear and you may make a new selection.
- Adjusting your browser settings to block or delete specific categories of cookies — see Section 4 below.
- Contacting us at contact@ameck.co with the subject line "Cookie Preferences" and we will assist you in managing your settings.
Please note that if you decline or withdraw consent for analytics and functional cookies, certain features of the Platform may not function as intended and your user experience may be affected.
4. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most web browsers allow you to control and manage cookies through your browser settings. You can typically instruct your browser to: (a) refuse all cookies; (b) accept all cookies; (c) delete existing cookies; or (d) notify you when a cookie is being placed. The method for managing cookies varies by browser. Please refer to your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
Below are links to the cookie management settings for the most commonly used browsers. These links are provided for convenience only and Ameck does not control or endorse any of these resources:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
- Safari (macOS): Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Safari (iOS): Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security
Please be aware that restricting cookies may impact the functionality of the Platform, including your ability to log in and maintain an authenticated session.
5. Cookies and Your Privacy
Cookies that collect personal data — including analytics cookies that capture IP addresses and device identifiers — are subject to Ameck's Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. Please review our Privacy Policy at ameck.co/privacy for full details.
Where third-party service providers set cookies on the Platform or on our behalf, those providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We have listed all third-party cookies used on the Platform in Section 2 of this Policy. You should review the privacy policies of those providers to understand how they process your data.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. There is currently no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Ameck does not currently alter its data collection or use practices in response to DNT browser signals. If a standard for DNT response is established and adopted in jurisdictions relevant to our operations, we will review and update this Policy accordingly.
7. Changes to This Cookies Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, applicable law, or changes to the Platform. The date of the most recent revision will always be stated at the top of this Policy. Where changes are material — for example, if we introduce new categories of cookies or begin placing third-party advertising pixels on the Platform — we will notify registered users by email and display a prominent notice on the Platform at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Cookies Policy.
